Breaker & Electrical Lockouts

Secure circuit breakers and vulnerable electrical points

In a high-energy environment or equipment-intensive work sites, facilities, and industries, there is always a risk of electrical hazards posed by exposed circuit breakers, accidental manipulation of valves, power or operating controls on machinery, and other potential threats to safety. This is why Breaker Lockouts and similar equipment is necessary whenever there are workers operating machinery, working on electrified structures or powered equipment, or basically near any electrically active object. Breaker Lockouts can save lives by locking controls, breakers, plugs, sockets, away and preventing their accidental power up, damage, or tampering. Choose Seton Canada for your electrical lockouts and other safety needs.

Importance of Breaker Lockouts and other Electrical Lockouts

In this modern age it is virtually impossible to think of an industry that doesn't employ electricity or some form of electrically-powered machinery or equipment at one stage or another of its operation. Electricity's importance to the global economy and efficient production of goods makes it critical for any factory, facility, or work site to have proper electrical infrastructure, including well-maintained breakers and other power hardware. Part and parcel of maintaining the electrical bones of your operation is the employment of a comprehensive safety system, and Breaker Lockouts are one aspect of that system.

Proper use of Electrical Lockouts

Use Breaker Lockouts to hold a circuit breaker switch in a safe position and secure them with padlocks or other fasteners to prevent tampering or accidental activation or deactivation. Other types of lockouts can prevent valves from being tampered with, such as gate valve lockouts, or enclose electrical cable plugs for when they cannot or should not be plugged into an electrical outlet socket. The latter items, called Plugouts, can protect plugs from wet or corrosive conditions and prevent them from being used during maintenance or other sensitive duties. No matter what your equipment use, proper safety is imperative at all times. In most cases Breaker lockouts and other lockout equipment is mandatory. Trust Seton Canada to help you fulfill your electrical lockout needs.
